Winter Creek Cottage
I could write a massive post about my day at Winters creek cottage, in fact, I did but I will spare you all the details of my excitement and plans and give you the smaller version instead.
I was given an amazing opportunity to revisit Winters Creek Cottage with permission to photograph and style it as I pleased. So I headed off with a carload of goodies (maybe half my house) and a tummy tickling with excitement and a smile you could not wipe from my face. I have been so so excited about this and doing Interiors in older homes with beautiful collected pieces, well it has been a massive dream on my wishlist for a long time now. All I had to do was ask.
There were hours of planning, list writing and curating props, borrowing and purchasing the odd pieces I didn’t already have. My plan was to keep it simple but with the right pieces. I wanted it to feel like it was your weekend away, so I cooked up a carrot cake. It is an old family recipe and I styled up the table to welcome you as you walked in the front door. It was all about the viewer seeing themselves in the rooms, preparing food, eating the cake, reading out in the garden, walking the grounds, viewing the landscape from the rocking chair and even a cup of tea in bed.
I am still smiling and I am very keen to photograph more places like Winter creek cottage. If you have a place that you would like photographed, I would love to start making plans with you. Send me an email and we can start the journey together.
